Thoughts on Game Change/Double Down?

Just finishing both and have a few observations off of the top of my head...
-Either the authors were never really able to penetrate what happened in Obama's camp or they were given a severely white washed version. Seriously, some of the "crises" Obama faced behind the scenes were laughable at best and somehow always managed to make him look good.
Now, I'm not sure that is partisan driven because Game Change was absolutely brutal towards the Clintons and John Edwards. Double Down threw Biden under the bus as well. The worst things about Obama were that he was too obsessed with policy or didn't prepare enough for debates. Give me a break.
Another interesting thing I noticed was how quick the McCain people were to throw everything they had on Palin to the authors. Obviously they felt that by throwing her under the bus it absolved them of blame for running a shitty campaign and whiffing on the vetting process. Not surprising, the head honchos from the campaign, Steve Schmidt, Nicolle Wallace, Mark Salter, etc all have mainstream media jobs and spend all day on twitter bashing Republicans and Trump. McCain had people around him who weren't team players, which is a big disparity from the Obama team who protected their candidate about as well as possible in this day and age.
Overall, both books were excellent. It's a shame Halperin was a perv and fricked up the publishing of the 2016 installment.
