The Trouble With Peace

Anyone reading the latest from Abercrombie? Just started.
I’ve said this before, but I think he’s a better pure writer than Sanderson. Sanderson Lourdes Supreme over Worldbuilding, but Abercrombie I think is better at the finer details of characterization. I also prefer his more brutal, R rated, realistic view taken in his novels. No one is ever safe.
He’s also the only one even near Sanderson in churning out quality work at a good clip in the fantasy world.

I agree with you on Abercrombie being better pure writer overall than Sanderson, mostly due to his characters being far superior. I haven't gotten around to the trouble with peace yet. I had originally planned on waiting till next fall and just reading 2 and 3 after the third came out, but I've been rereading the stand alones the last two weeks (reading red country now) and I doubt I'll be able to wait to read it now.
However, you are way off on this one. There are bunch of fantasy authors churning out quality work at a good clip these days.

Bought it the day it came out. I love his writing style. I need to get around to reading the stand alone books that come before the Age of Madness books.

Same. I’ve read all the trilogy novels.
I’ve read Red Country. But I’ve lapsed on a few of the other standalone entries.
And yea. His writing style is probably my favorite of current fantasy authors.
