Some, or all of that may or may not happen.

Ya i'm not looking for responses / commentary on the third book content - just posting some of my ideas.

Your ideas a well thought out. I think you'll like the role Locke plays with the Bondsmagi, and I think you'll like how the book ends. I did, at least.

I liked the ending as well. My only issue is that the first 2 books, while not every thing was resolved, had good stopping points and real endings, Republic of Thieves ended with a huge cliffhanger and it looked like we will never get the next book in the series.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved Thieves but damnit I want the next chapter in the saga.

The original release date for Thorn of Emberlain was September 2016. Last update I saw was Lynch asking fans 6 months ago to give him perspective on a gay character. Since then, not much.

I don’t care about that. Have a gay character, so what. GoT is full of them.
I just want a good, complete story.

I don't disagree. Just saying that Lynch will feel the need to virtue signal with this character, so he'll probably play a large role.

He released a bunch short stories recently and then made a press release. Although he didnt directly mention it or a release date, he has supposedly been updating the website and made some indirect comments that may be a good sign for a late 2018 / early 2019 release.
I linked it in a post on a prior page - maybe just wishful thinking but I hope a release is coming soon.

He's done similar things over the past two years. Hope he means it this time. Speaking of short stories, take a moment to read the one I linked earlier.

Got 1/3 of the way through Republic of Thieves last night / this morning. Just getting into it but very good so far - the interludes in this book are awesome.
I really like how Lynch uses the interludes in his series to provide backstory / set-up. He avoided having to have those introduction books in the series where you get a ton of info dropped and have to work through everything chronologically.
I've read series where each books jump around in terms of the timeline, but nothing of this format where it keeps jumping back like Lynch does. It really adds a lot and is probably a big part of why the book 1 and all was so well received. He fed you just enough of the intro stuff that you need for that book and didn't muddle the story with a bunch of stuff that won't be important till later.

I enjoyed that also. Apparently he only does that for the odd numbered books.

Ya he didn't go back to the beginning in Book 2 like he does in 1 and 3. But he still uses the device in Book 2 to show the time between the end of Book 1 and the start of Book 2 - which is a nice way to show the plot moving faster and a mix-up from the straight chronological story-telling you typically see.

This. I’ve put book two down 10-20 percent in like 3 or 4 times

Book 3 wasn't as good as the other two for me. Still enjoyable, but just had more of a set-up feel and didn't seem as cohesive essentially telling two full stories.
Hopefully Lynch will be able to finish the series at some point, as least he is still somewhat young

Here's to hoping. Lynch has issues with depression, which apparently impacts his ability to work. Fair enough. But, then he does other silly shite, like when he bought a new house and had to move. According to him, the hassle of getting a mortgage, buying the house, then moving was enough to make him not work for months. Like no working individual has ever had to go through the process of buying a house and being a contributing member of society at the same time.

I'd rather him take the time and get it it right - creating something like that is a lot different than going to a 9 to 5 and putting then the hours.
It's his life's work so I'm sure he wants to get it done more than anyone.

Ya I thought it was done really well in that regard, but you just don't see that kind of stuff a lot in fantasy. I used to read a ton of the Redwall stuff when I was little, and it has some of that sort of stuff.
Republic of Thieves was solid, was just kind of a major backstory and set-up book. I enjoyed it, definitely some of the revelations, but not quite as much as the first two.
