On the advice of this board, I am listening to Shogun on Audible.

Great book, and I am thankful for the suggestions.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has come across a map that would show where the places are.

I've done google searches and can't come up with much. I've learned Edo is Toykyo, and I can see where Osaka is of course.

But I'd like to see where the area Blackthorne and his ship landed, etc.

Any help appreciated.

Can’t help you with a map, but I can tell you to look for information on “Tokugawa Shogunate.” That should lead you to a map that can give you information on these locations.

Didn't find too much in the way of maps, but I did go down a nice history trail.

I've got about 12 hours left myself. I've enjoyed it, but it drags a bit in some places. Ready for some shite to go down.

You know it's a long book when you make that statement.

Are you reading or listening?

Yep. I am listening also. About 12 hours in.

A bit hard to remember the more minor characters names; not being used to Japanese names.

My two gripes so far:

Every single one of the dutch sailors is portrayed as having high pitched whiny voices

Blackthorne sounds like he clenched teeth angry even when the context would dictate a more normal voice.

Other than those minor things, I love it.
