this was bad. bad bad bad.

please don't waste your time. the errors have been mentioned above. Writing, subject matter, rehashing of first book. Nearly everything was predictable. The things that weren't were because they happened "off screen" and no mention of the actions made it to the page until after the end result was shown.

Lol I got this book Christmas 2020, started it and tucked it away. My goal is to read more this year, so I’m forcing myself to fight through the one I started*. I’m about halfway through and it seems to be picking up, for better or worse.

*I am weird and a one book at a time person. Similar to how I eat, I suppose.

Dude, there are hundreds of thousands of better books than this one. If you are enjoying it, great! I'm not one to yuck someone else's yum, but I've never felt like I've wasted my time reading like I did when I finished this book.

I liked the first, especially as a child of the 80s so nostalgia hit home. This series and author are not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea, and it’s style is a bit teenage reading level but enjoyable nonetheless.

The sequel I enjoyed enough just bc I like the world and characters but it was really disappointing how unoriginal and rehashing it was

My condolences.

I just finished Anthony Ryan's Blood Song the other day. The Fifth Season is also really good. Slow in the beginning but it takes off about halfway through and was very intriguing.

I put this book down during Prince World and have no desire to go back to it.

It's fricking awful.

The dialogue is cringe AF. All of the references are slammed in your face and straight down your throat. Nothing at all is interesting about the plot. The writing is childish.

God this shite is just fricking gross.
