I rad this back in the 80’s and loved it. Thomas Covenant was my first real exposure to an anti-hero. Steven R Donaldson is a unique writer who took what we saw as “fantasy” in a completely new direction. For the time it was completely groundbreaking.

I’m listening to it on audible now and man, maybe because the reader is a really good voice actor, but I’m hating Covenant so much! He’s a real piece of shite and insufferable.

I know it’s tied to his leprosy and I know that’s the whole point, but I’m still surprised at how much my opinion of him changed.

Anyone else every have this happen
From listening to a book versus reading it?

Also, I still recommend the series. The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever. It’s an amazing story.
