I'm not an engineer, but work in an engineering-heavy industry and am trying to bulk up my technical knowledge a bit. Can any of the Double Es in the audience recommend a good starting point? Please note I would like to go the textbook route for self-study purposes. Many thanks.

Look up course syllabi for EE classes at different colleges. You'll see what book they use. And might even get a run down on the important stuff to pay attention to.

it's what I do when I'm looking for some new history books. Browse the LSU catalog for an interesting 4000 level class, read the syllabus, and buy the books of they sound interesting.
