Does anyone have any book recommendations that covers his life up to and including the Battle of New Orleans? What is the best historical book out there on this legendary pirate?
TIA

I think 1/10th of Saxon's book about Lafitte was actually true, but the guy certainly can turn a colorful phrase. My favorite part is his description of the exact food and wine served at Lafitte's meeting with the British Naval officers when they tried to recruit him to their side, as if Saxon were sitting there with them.

The Pirates Lafitte by William C Davis
Probably the most factual account but maybe not the best reading as it is a more scholarly account of the Lafitte brothers.
