I was watching Angels and Demons the other day and would like to read more about this. Any good recommendations (non-fiction but not boring)?

Do a quick search on amazon for 'illuminati and catholic church' and you'll get some suggestions. Be prepared to read quite a few books to understand the tangled history over hundreds of years. But truly fascinating stuff that often reads like fiction! Also use the bibliography of any book you like for additional suggested titles.
Just be aware that Dan Brown's books, while suspenseful, are quite fictional!

Read David Yallop's The Power and the Glory. This is a must for any study of the Catholic Church.

Yallop’s documentary approach reads like a novel.

Excellent advice. He's a crank with an agenda and an ax to grind.
