I would say neither but if I had to pick I'd say Martin. His books don't get mired down like Hobbs. The plot steadily moves

Yeah. Id consider MJS books easier reading, especially Riyria revelations.

You do get multiple POVs but pacing is pretty smooth.

Just learned today that Sullivan is writing a 6th Chronicals novel called Blythin Castle and he's working on Book #2 of a five book post Riyria series called The Cycle.

This is from Sullivan's blog.

"The below order is how I meant you to be exposed to the story, and if you choose to take my advice the reading order would be:

Revelations (1 - 6): Theft of Swords | Rise of Empire | Heir of Novron

Chronicles (1 - 2): The Crown Tower | The Rose and the Thorn

Legends (1 - 3): Age of Myth | Age of Swords | Age of War

Chronicles (3 - 4): Death of Dulgath | Disappearance of Winter's Daughter

Legends (4 - 6): Age of Legend | Age of Death | Age of Empyre

Rise and Fall (1 - 3): Nolyn | Farilane | Esrahaddon

Chronicles 5: Drumindor"

I would never have thought to read them in that order but I see where it makes sense.

I read them in release order, I think that is how that list goes besides maybe mixing Legends 1-3 and Chronicles 3-4

I own Disappearance of Winter's Daughter signed hardcover. Underrated book.

I prefer the first legends trilogy over 4-6

The Legends weren't my favorites. It's more high fantasy with elves, dwarves, and ancient magic, ala LOTR, where the rest of his books are lighter reading with more humor, a more medieval era setting with kings, dukes, and sword fighting. To me it was more enjoyable.

So, I started reading Theft of Swords. I must say, it's great storytelling. I'm engrossed. It's not stellar literature or anything, but definitely entertaining. I could see this being picked up for television. I like it better than Wheel of Time.

Riyria is my favorite fantasy series. There's not a bad book in the bunch. Fun, easy reads.

I just finished farilane for the second time. I was pressed for time and it was the shortest one I had on audible.

Just as good the second time through. I think i may start the original series again since it has been years.

I purchased them all today so whenever I find time gonna start.

The graphic audio versions are definitely a different experience. Im enjoying it but Tim Gerard Reynolds always does a fantastic job as well.
