Anyone read any of his works? Included are Sarum, The Forest, London, Paris, China, The Princes of Ireland, and The Rebels of Ireland. I’ve found him quite entertaining.

Paris and New York are two of my favorite books. I've also read London and Sarum, I think.
Whenever I'm in Paris, NYC, etc. I think of the books quite a bit. I recommend them all the time.
For more info to those new, they tend to track families over hundreds (or thousands) of years through major events and changes up to fairly recent events. Great, smart writing that is historically accurate (well, for historical fiction) very enjoyable/approachable but not at all cheesy.

If you’ve read Paris and still have your copy, look at the dialogue on page 590. Hemingway refers to a young American named “Gil” who was around for awhile and then disappeared. It is a very clever reference to the main character in the film Midnight in Paris which came out a few years before Rutherford wrote Paris. I’d bet there are a few sort of mystery anachronisms in his other works too. Ditto on New York by the way.

I started London.
A tiresome slog.
