I have now read three books by Christopher Moore.

Lamb
Fool
Shakespeare for Squirrels

Lamb is one of the best comedies I’ve ever read, with honest laugh out loud moments that bookend biblical stories and ideas to make reading about Christ both thought provoking and enjoyable (in particular, the middle years that no one really talks about).

Fool is also wonderful. It introduces Pocket of Dog Snogging, jester to the court of King Lear, and is a send up of the play King Lear that is riotous and vile and gross and hilarious.

Shakespeare for Squirrels is another book following Pocket, this time in a send up of Midsummer Night’s Dream. It is a little less funny than Fool but by the end I couldn’t continue to read it because I was laughing too hard and had to take a few beats to regain my senses.

All in all, I highly recommend them as they are all wonderful, especially Lamb.

Anyone else read these silly, very adult books?

I have a lot of his books and read 4 so far according to my list

Fool
Lamb
A Dirty Job
The Stupidest Angel

I rated them in that order
I don't remember The Stupidest Angel, but I only rated it 2/5, but I also went through a period where I was rating really harsh, also could because I read it out of order

I have The Serpent of Venice (Fool #2) and Island of the Sequined Love Nun on my shelf

I like his humor. Reminds me of a little less skilled but more perverted Terry Prachett

If I was by my shelf, I could confirm, but I believe I also have Bloodsucking Fiends, Bite Me, You Suck, and Razzmatazz (definitely have this one because I found a signed first edition for like 15 bucks)

I three love this Author. Lamb and a dirty job are my favorites.

My copy of Lamb was black leather with gilded page edges.

Lamb : the gospel of Biff. Christ's childhood friend.

Pretty good analogy.

I'll add - a less skilled and less perverted Tom Robbins. But he is fun to read and often is really good.

Any book that starts off with an Angel calling someone an a-hole, you know you are in for a good time. Lamb was one of the funniest books I ever read.
