Swan Song by Robert McCammon
I'm consuming this via audible and I've got about 22hrs left.

Yes it's amazing. I first read it in 1994 and reread it last year. I don't know if you've read The Stand but Swan Song blows it out of the water as far as post apocalyptic yarns go.

"Once upon a time, we had a love affair with fire."
Just finished my nth re-read of it last week.
One of my favorite books. But I'm a huge McCammon fan.
If you haven't yet, give his book "Wolf's Hour" a try.

i have read it and listened to the audible. it's great. i do like the Stand better, but it's definitely up there. the whole subplot with the Colonel and Roland is so dark and sinister...just phenomenal.

Any particular reading order you would recommend?

Either Swan Song or Wolf's Hour first. Maybe Boy's Life too.

So far Swan Song has a very Stephen King. The Stand. To it.

AOE pulls up to Mary's Rest. SISTER blasts Roland with shotgun spraying Jim with pellets.
Sister gives swan an emotional speech h about her being a leader.
Dang..it's so good.
