US authors have won the most prestigious UK literary honor 3 years in a row. Marlon James A Brief History of 7 Killings; Paul Beatty: The Sellout; George Saunders : Lincoln in the Bardo. Quite the feat. Who says high brow American literature is dead.

I really wanted to like A Brief History of Seven Killings but it was almost impenetrable to me.

Its one of those books you just gotta plow through for the first 200 pages or so to get used to the interweaving narratives and odd dialect. IMHO its worth sticking with it. Listening to Bob Marley in the background helps set the mood.
