New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick spoke with the media this morning and answered many questions about yesterdays AFC Championship game. In his opening statement, Belichich was not shy about addressing the hit by Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker that caused Pats cornerback Aquib Talib to leave the game. Here is what he had to say:

"I was asked about the hit on Talib, and I feel bad really for Aqib. The way that play turned out, I went back and watched it, which I didn't have a chance to do yesterday. It was a deliberate play by the receiver to take out Aqib. No attempt to get open. And i'll let the league handle the discipline on that play. It's not for me to decide, but its one of the worst plays I've seen."

It's about time an Offenses did something to stop one of the leagues 2 most aggressive defenders from mugging their receivers. Let's see if Denver does it again in two weeks against the leagues MOST aggressive defender. It's called championship football Bill.

I don't know if it was dirty but it's definitely cheap and definitely a penalty. Laughable it wasn't called considering the Pats got called for offensive PI the possession before.
