Saints QB Ryan Griffin Hit W/ Champagne Bottle, Gets 50 Stitches
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Saints backup QB Ryan Griffin was hit in the face with a champagne bottle after an altercation he and his friends had with some other dudes at New Orleans' Apres Lounge in the early-morning hours of June 7. Griffin had to get more than 50 stitches to repair the gash. Griffin returned to practice on Tuesday and his attorney released this statement...
quote:

“We are unable to comment on the details of what happened due to the impending investigation by the New Orleans Police Department. We are confident that NOPD will do everything in their power to find the assailant, and bring this matter to justice. Ryan has been a long standing and exemplary member of the New Orleans community since his tenure at Tulane, and now as a Saint. Ryan thanks everyone for their support in this matter.”
A Saints’ spokesperson said...
quote:

“We are aware of the situation, and the matter is under investigation. Ryan has been exemplary as a Saint and he has our full support.”

really don't get why athletes go to bars and stay out late. Maybe it wasn't his fault, but man, don't put yourself in these situations. Sure, you can go out and have a good time, but know when to call it a night. Nothing good happens after midnight, especially with alcohol involved.
