Actually, they're not allowed to have a championship game with only 10 members, according to NCAA rules. They need to add two more teams (expansion) or get a waver from the NCAA

They deliberately removed their championship game so they wouldn't risk losing a title shot with a loss (like if Missouri beat Alabama)...it cuts both ways.
