The LSU Baseball team was ranked No. 6 in the latest Baseball America poll, the result of losing two of three games to Tennessee (who has the worst record in the SEC) at home, and also losing to Nicholls State. The Tigers went 2-3 for the week after moving to No. 1.

LSU is ranked No. 9 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Poll and No. 8 in the USA Today/ESPN Baseball Coaches' Poll.

The Tigers hope to rebound when they face Southeastern Louisiana this evening at Alex Box Stadium. The game starts at 6:30pm CT.

The effects of losing three of their last four games will be shown on the field tonight, as Coach Paul Mainieri plans to shake up the line up to spark the team. Click here for more details.

In other LSU Football news, former Tiger WR Demetrius Byrd was in a car accident Sunday morning in Miami. According to news reports, Byrd was traveling to church when a tire on his car blew out. His car was totaled and he had to be cut out of the vehicle. Details about his condition have ranged from "he will be ok, just bumps and bruises" to "he is receiving CAT scans hourly while he lays in the ICU."

Byrd was expected to be drafted in the second round of the upcoming NFL draft. The Tiger Nation is hoping that Byrd makes a speedy recovery.
