Update: LSU Starting Safety AJ Haulcy Is Suspended For The First-Half Of The Clemson Opener

LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke to reporters after practice on Thursday and discussed the situation surrounding LSU safety AJ Haulcy.

Kelly said the team found out about Haulcy's issue on Wednesday and are waiting for further guidance from the SEC and NCAA on his status. He expects to get an answer very soon.

Background: AJ Haulcy was in an on-field altercation at the end of his last game last season at the University of Houston. Since Houston didn't have a bowl game, there is concern that Haulcy may have to sit out the first half of the Clemson game.

Another LSU safety, Tamarcus Cooley, was in a similar situation but is expected to play.

It's cool that Michigan was able to ride their multi-season cheating scandal to a National Championship, but the NCAA was able to move this swiftly against LSU just at the right moment.

This whole sport is governed by absolute shitbirds.

Doug Hood is the name of the reporter Clemson used to squeal on LSU's Haulcy and Cooley at the last minute before the game. I'm surprised they didn't do it Saturday afternoon.
Unfortunately for Clemson's best laid plans, Cooley will play. Let's hope the NCAA doesn't fall for this and not allow Haulcy to play in the 1st half.
If this enrages the team (as well as the LSU Nation), then their last minute scheme will have backfired.

He's not suspended during the game at the time of the incident. And then later on he gets suspended...after he decides to transfer. And this is fair? Oh, and LSU is notified just before the first game of the season...literally 48 hours before the game.
