BIG HOME WEEKEND ON TAP FOR LSU ATHLETICS


BATON ROUGE – Numerous home sporting events - including the LSU football spring game, the LSU-Texas A&M baseball series and the NCAA Gymnastics Regional – highlight what will be one of the most exciting weekends this spring on the LSU campus.

In all, eight LSU teams will be in action over the three-day span, which includes six Tiger squads that are currently ranked among the Top 10 in the nation.

The National L Club Spring Game which concludes spring football practice for the Tigers takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Tiger Stadium The spring game will feature a pre-game Fan Fest that will take place on the west side of Tiger Stadium beginning at 11 a.m.

The Fan Fest will feature free carnival rides, interactive games, food vendors, beer sales and music. It will remain open until 7 pm and is available for all fans attending many of the multiple events taking place on LSU's campus.

Following the spring game, the Tigers, along with head coach Ed Orgeron, the coaching staff and members of LSU’s 2019 signing class will be available on the field in Tiger Stadium to meet fans, take pictures and sign autographs.

LSU’s No. 3 ranked gymnastics team will look to punch its ticket to the NCAA National Championships when they host the NCAA Regional on Friday and Saturday at the Maravich Center. The Tigers will compete at 7 on Friday night with the finals set for 7 p.m. on Saturday.

The ninth-ranked LSU baseball team, coming off a series win over No. 2 ranked Mississippi State last weekend, hosts Texas A&M for a three-game series in Alex Box Stadium First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday followed by a 2 p.m. start on Sunday.

LSU’s Top 10-ranked men’s and women’s track and field teams host the Battle on the Bayou on Saturday.

Running events are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Saturday as some of the world’s top track and field performers will be on display for fans to see free of charge at Bernie Moore Stadium.

LSU’s top 5 ranked beach volleyball team hosts three matches – two on Saturday and one on Sunday – at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium, while the LSU men’s and women’s tennis team will both be in action at the LSU Tennis Complex this weekend.

The following is a complete listing of home events scheduled on the LSU campus starting Friday:

Friday, April 5
4 p.m. - Women’s tennis vs. Texas A&M (LSU Tennis Complex) - Free admission
7 p.m. - NCAA Gymnastics Regional (Maravich Center)
7 p.m. - Baseball vs. Texas A&M (Alex Box Stadium)

Saturday, April 6
9 a.m. - Track and Field hosts Battle on the Bayou (Bernie Moore Stadium) – Free admission
11 a.m. - Beach volleyball vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville (LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium) – Free admission
Noon - Men’s tennis vs. Kentucky (LSU Tennis Complex) – Free admission
1 p.m. - National L Club Spring Game (Tiger Stadium) – Free admission
Post-Game - Football Fan Day/Autograph Session (On field in Tiger Stadium)
5 p.m. - Men’s tennis vs. Nicholls (LSU Tennis Complete) – Free admission
6 p.m. - Beach volleyball vs. South Carolina (LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium) – Free admission
7 p.m. - Baseball vs. Texas A&M (Alex Box Stadium)
7 p.m. - NCAA Gymnastics Regional (Maravich Center)

Sunday, April 7
2 p.m. - Baseball vs. Texas A&M (Alex Box Stadium)
3:30 p.m. - Beach volleyball vs. Houston Baptist (LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium) – Free admission
