Former LSU Star Grant Delpit Signs $48 Million Contract Extension With Browns

Former LSU All-American Grant Delpit is staying in Cleveland for the long haul after agreeing to a three-year, $48 million contract extension with the Browns, according to multiple reports.
The deal includes $35 million guaranteed and keeps the veteran safety under contract through the 2029 season.
Delpit, 27, has developed into one of the Browns' defensive leaders since being selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Despite missing his entire rookie season with a torn Achilles, the former Tiger has totaled 451 tackles, seven interceptions, and 6.5 sacks in 78 career games while establishing himself as one of the league's more reliable safeties.
Delpit played at LSU from 2017-2019, becoming one of the most decorated defensive backs in program history. He was a two-time All-American, won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back in 2019, and helped lead the Tigers to the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship.
