Most LSU freshman football players reported to campus over the weekend to begin summer classes and workouts.

One of those freshman was wide receiver Drake Davis who posted a blazing 4.38 40-yard dash during workouts on Tuesday.


Davis, a native of Baton Rouge, played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL lsat season. The 6-4, 215-pound receiver chose his hometown Tigers over Ole Miss and other schools.

He is a better physical specimen and athlete, but Malachi is a damn good receiver. Honestly, Davis might have a higher ceiling.

These times are always bogus. I think he can run a legit 4.45, but I don't think people realize how amazing of an athletic feat it is for a receiver his size to run sub-4.4 in the 40.

You have factor in his length. Given the fact that he IS fast, and the fact that he is covering at least 3 yards per STEP, he's covering a lot of ground in a short amount of time. I agree that they do exaggerate these times, but given his measureables, it not the far fetched or out of the realm of possibility for him to be clocking that time. I hope his game speed is that fast...

He definitely is fast, but you are correct idk why you're getting downvoted. At the NFL combine this time would be a 4.45 -still crazy, NFL caliber, speed.
