Offensive guard Garrett Brumfield was fully dressed out in pads on Tuesday and was working on individual drills by himself. The senior from Baton Rouge has not played in a game since suffering a knee injury vs. Louisiana Tech on Sept. 22.

Head coach Ed Orgeron said Monday that Brumfield will likely not be ready to go this week vs. Mississippi State.

LSU follows up Saturday's game with an open date and then Alabama comes to Baton Rouge on Nov. 3. Getting Brumfield back to for the Alabama game could provide a huge boost for the Tigers offensive line.

Starting nose tackle Ed Alexander returned to practice on Tuesday after sitting out on Monday with soreness in his legs.

Left tackle Saahdiq Charles and fullback Tory Carter both practiced in a gold "non-contact" jersey.
