Notre Dame head coach Biran Kelly announced Thursday that tight end Alize Mack is suspended for the Citrus Bowl vs. LSU on Jan. 1.

Mack will join wide receiver Kevin Stepherson and running back C.J. Holmes who are also serving indefinite suspensions for shopping lifting charges. Per CBS Sports:

"On a separate matter, Alize Mack has also been suspended for the game," Kelly said, according to 247Sports. "It has nothing to do with academic eligibility. All of our players are academically eligible. It's an internal team matter."

Mack had 19 catches for 166 yards and one score for the Fighting Irish this year. He's also tied for third on the team in receptions and fifth in receiving yards.

His suspension comes on the heels of indefinite suspensions to third-leading receiver Kevin Stepherson (19 receptions, 359 yards and five touchdowns in eight games) and running back C.J. Holmes (32 rushing yards in eight games).

Thanks, alumni95. Forgot about Gamble. Any idea who will be handling kickoffs?

We have 3 out. Now they have 3 out. Should level the playing field a little. Although, ours are on defense, while theirs are on offense. For what it’s worth. They better hurry up and play before all these guys get injured or arrested. Pretty soon, the coaches will have to line up! That would be interesting!

Ours that are out are a lot more significant to our team than their three are to their team.
