LSU head coach Ed Orgeron announced Tuesday evening that tight end Stephen Sullivan is moving back outside to wide receiver with Terrace Marshall out with an injury.

Marshall left the Vanderbilt game last Saturday with an injury and had surgery on Sunday. Orgeron is hopefull to have Marshall back towards the end of the season.

Sullivan, a 6-5 senior from Donaldsonville, LA, played wide receiver during his first three seasons with the team but made the switch to tight end in LSU's new offense this year.

Seize this opportunity to redeem yourself for last year's dropped passes SS10. He can make a lot of money right now in this offense if he continues to catch the ball the way he has the last couple of games.

Just a common sense move!

This may be a blessing in disguise…

For Sullivan, yes, but not for the Tigers as a whole.

Yeah, I certainly hope you meant this for SS. Marshall was en fuego.

He’s looked great these last few games. He will step in and the offense won’t miss a beat.

The TE position may not be working out for him

fade patterns into the endzone with sullivan would dominate imo

With McMath, Dillion, Jenkins, and Kirklin - assuming the thought is to red shirt Palmer and Lee - I would prefer Sullivan be left at TE. That is where is can make money in the NFL, not WR. These other guys should be able to step up. That's why they're on scholarship!

Catching balls at WR will not hinder him being drafted and playing TE in the NFL. Sullivan will not go unnoticed no matter what position he plays. A TE who can catch and run is a very valuable player in the NFL. Showing his ability to catch and run is all he needs to do.

Showing his versatility is even more important for his career. I think the NFL big boys can figure out where to put him on his own if he proves his worth.

Would love to have Dee Anderson available at this point...

For the record, that wasn’t saying I don’t think Sullivan won’t fill in well. Just that it would’ve been nice to keep him at TE... but it will be interesting to see Chase, Jefferson, Sullivan, and Moss on the field at the same time.

I agree. I think Anderson's skill set fits in better with what we've been doing with Marshall.

Being 6-5 240 he may not need as much separation.

I hope he can get separation. I was hoping Palmer would slide into Marshall's spot.
