Martin, who had the game-clinching interception in the Tigers' 10-7 upset victory over Ole Miss, is the Tigers' third leading tackler with 48 stops. His interception Saturday was his second of the season and the fifth of his career.

Three other SEC players were among the semifinalists, including Alabama safety Landon Collins and cornerback Senquez Golson and safety Cody Prewitt of Ole Miss.
Former LSU players Patrick Peterson and Morris Claiborne won the Jim Thorpe award as Tigers.

The winner will be named Dec. 11.

Damn. You could make a case that he is the seventh best DB on this team too behind White, Robinson, Collins, Jefferson, Adams, and Mills... Not a knock on Martin either, our defensive backfield is absolutely loaded. DBU is back, congrats Martin
