LSU will not add Dae'Quan Wright or Zxavian Harris to its roster for Saturday night's season opener against Clemson, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Additional reports indicate LSU added former Notre Dame edge rusher Junior Tuihalamaka to its roster.

Thamel reported Friday night that LSU submitted a 103-player roster for the Clemson game, leaving Wright and Harris off the list. The Tigers still have two available roster spots, meaning both players could potentially be added later this season.

Both Wright and Harris are enrolled at LSU, which keeps the door open for them to join the roster at a later date.

The news comes one day after Wright and Harris received a favorable ruling in Baton Rouge as part of the ongoing eligibility battle involving the SEC and former professional players.

Wright and Harris both indicated after Thursday's hearing that they expected to play for LSU this season. Wright said he was prepared to play immediately, while Harris said he did not expect to play against Clemson as he continues progressing from an injury.

LSU will now move forward without either player for Saturday night's highly anticipated matchup against Clemson in Tiger Stadium.

Sounds like a sound approach was taken, especially if Harris can't play right now anyway. The saber rattling can die down for a while and we can laser focus on playing football.

Thank God. Let's kick arse without them.

That takes all the wind out of Clemson's sails if they hoped for LSU to have to forfeit a win (which will happen for LSU Saturday night).

Did Texas leave off Cole Hutson? Is Ole Miss going to let Ben Henshall play?
