UPDATE: LSU has hired Andre Carter as the new DL coach.

LSU is expected to hire New York Jets defensive line coach Andre Carter for the same position on Ed Orgeron's staff, according to College Football reporter Bruce Feldman.

Carter, 41, would replace Bill Johnson who retired this offseason.

The former first-round draft pick from Cal played 13-season in the NFL before hanging up the pads in 2013. He served as an assistant defensive line coach with the Miami Dolphins from 2017–2018 where he worked with new LSU defensive coordinator Daronte Jones.

After his time with the Dolphins, Carter was hired to be the defensive line coach for the Jets from 2019-2020.

Potentially a top drawer defense with a 21st century offense and quality special teams. Optimistic.

Another 10+ year NFL vet on staff. Cant be a bad thing. Unless of course you might want to keep kids on the team for more than 2 years.
