Bleacher Report recently ranked the fastest football players in the College Football for 2017 and pegged LSU cornerback and return specialist Donte Jackson at No. 1 on the list.

Thanks to the guiding hands of the Track & Field Results Reporting System and the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, we have official times for some of the sport's fastest athletes in the 60- and 100-meter sprints. When available, the 60-meter time is preferred.

Donte Jackson, LSU:

Top time: 6.63 in 60-meter dash

Not only is Donte Jackson the fastest player in college football, LSU's track team is benefiting from the cornerback's speed.

In three career 60-meter finals, he’s placed third (2016 LSU Twilight), second (2017 New Mexico Classic) and eighth (2017 SEC Championships).

He gathered 26 tackles and one interception as a freshman before earning a starting role and tallying 39 stops, two picks and eight pass breakups last year. Jackson will be an essential piece of the LSU secondary in 2017.

The sky is the limit for Donte if he can fine tune his CB skills when the ball is in the air. It amazes me that LSU can lose the best Safety AND CB in the nation to the draft and still have an elite CB like DJ coming back next year. The kids at DBU can ball.

If he could learn to get his head around, he could be a first round pick.

He needs to be our return specialist for sure! He can fly! I agree he does need to tighten up his cb play.

I just want him to play at a decent level. His CB play has been disappointing.

Can't wait to see what he can do in Canada's offense.

Double reverse with him and Chark. The D would have to respect and suspect subbing in Donte.
