ESPN released post-signing day SEC running back rankings this week and pegged LSU at No. 3. Here's what they had to say:
quote:

3. LSU: Good luck finding a better back in the SEC than Derrius Guice. The sophomore led all SEC running backs last year in yards (1,387), yards per carry (7.58) and touchdowns (15), and with Leonard Fournette leaving early, it will be Guice’s show in 2017. LSU does also have Darrel Williams and Nick Brossette, who are more than capable to give Guice a breather every now and again.
Complete Rankings:
1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. LSU
4. Arkansas
5. Auburn
6. Vanderbilt
7. Texas A&M
8. Kentucky
9. Missouri
10. Florida
11. Tennessee
12. South Carolina
13. Mississippi State
14. Ole Miss

Derrius Guice is the number one running back in the country, but in the vaunted SEC, he's only number three. Yeah right ESPN.

Feels like Chubb has been at UGA forever and gets injured every year.

How is Vandy above Kentucky and Mizzu?

I can't see anyone being better than LSU. Chubb and Michel are solid, no doubt. Not sure on Bama, but they always have a good ground game. But Guice is no doubt a special back and I've been saying from day 1 Brossette is a stud in waiting. Much like Guice, just needs an opportunity. Williams was wasted by Miles. Had more yards and TD's than Fournette coming out of HS. Surprised Espn didn't rank us at #12! Idiots!

Scarborough is bigger, but Guice is a complete back. Still can figure out why UGA is still ranked higher than us. It was the same thing last year and UGAs backs weren't exactly spectacular last year. I'm tired of ESPN rating guys on potential and not production.

Only thing I'd do different is move LSU & UGA up two spots. Alabama 3rd. If this is about running game (including O-line), ESPN got it right.

Alabama's RB roster is way ahead of LSU's man, come on don't be a homer. We have the best RB in the country IMO, but what's behind him is the typical backup guys we've had for years. Bama has Scarborough, Harris, Jacobs, and bringing in Najee Harris. That deck is ridiculously stacked. UGA has a monster top 2 as well also bringing in D'Andre Swift this year. I didn't even mention Holyfield who will be a beast this year.

Any "good" RB will look all American behind the Bama "no hold" OL. Fact.

Espn is trash. Anyone remember when the said Tennessee had the best running back duo last year?

I don't remember what ESPN said, but the boobs on the SEC network definitely ranked them a higher RB duo than LSU last year, which all LSU fans knew for a fact was ridiculously false.

ESPN acted like it was the LF7 show and some unknown backs. We all knew what Guice could do and did do.

I somewhat agree with list but I'll take Guice over any combo that the country has to offer.

Sony and Chubb coming back helps UGA but I'd take Guice alone over the combo.

Lol. I'd take Guice over Chubb and Michel too. UGA's running backs always seem to be good for a couple of ACL tears every season.
