ESPN released post-signing day SEC front seven rankings last week and pegged LSU at No. 2 behind Alabama. Here is what they had to say:
quote:

2. LSU: Ed Orgeron lost a lot of value with the departures of Kendell Beckwith, Davon Godchaux, Duke Riley and Tashawn Bower. However, there's a ton of talent still here, and arguably the best defender in the SEC returns in edge rusher Arden Key, who registered 12 sacks and 14.5 TFLs. Veterans Christian LaCouture and Greg Gilmore return good experience up front. Coaches are excited about youngsters Rashard Lawrence and Ed Alexander along the line. Linebackers Donnie Alexander and Devin Voorhies expected to at least be limited this spring, but rising sophomore Devin White is back with a ton of upside, as are fellow youngsters Sci Martin, Michael Divinity and Ray Thornton. ESPN 300 members Tyler Shelvin and K'Lavon Chaisson could see early time as well.
Complete Rankings:
1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Auburn
4. Georgia
5. Florida
6. Texas A&M
7. Kentucky
8. Mississippi State
9. South Carolina
10. Ole Miss
11. Vanderbilt
12. Tennessee
13. Arkansas
14. Missouri

Well. We know Bama is #1 until we beat em, according to ESPN. So the fact that they have us at #2 in most of these categories gives me reason for optimism. Plus, I know what we've got and who we have coming in. Plus, the new coaching staff should make a world of difference! The worm is turning!

They did win the SECCG quite convincingly, and did have the #1 signing class in CFB...

Why don't they just make the entire plane out of Alabama.
