The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday that they have signed former LSU running back Stevan Ridley to replace James Conner who was placed on injured reserve.

Ridley played at LSU from 2007-2010. His first year as a full-time starter for the Tigers came during his junior season where he rushed for 1,147 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The Natchez, Miss, native entered the 2011 NFL Draft after his junior year and was selected by the New England Patriots with 73rd overall pick in the 3rd round.

Ridley has played for the Patriots, the New York Jets, and the Atlanta Falcons over the past six years. He spent time with the Denver Broncos and the Minnesota Vikings earlier this season.
