LSU linebacker Jabril Cox spoke to the media Thursday during a virtual press conference and talked about his decision to join the program this offseason.

Cox, a native Kansas City, Mo., transferred from North Dakota State where he was a two-time All-America linebacker and helped the Bison win three FCS National Championships.

Many NFL Draft analysts have Cox as a mid-round prospect and some even wondered if he would opt-out of the season to begin training for the next level. On Thursday, Cox explained how opting-out was never an option for him.

Here's everything he had to say during Thursday's media session.

What a difference a championship run makes - we get 2 of the best players in their conferences (Cox probably the best player, regardless of division in the entire division, and Shanahan certainly the best OL in the Ivy League last year) to come be a part of the program.
