During his radio show on Wednesday, head coach Les Miles was asked if LSU freshman running back Leonard Fournette would ever wear the honorable No. 18 LSU jersey which defensive tackle Bennie Logan (pictured) and many other have worn in the past.

Miles responded like this:

The No. 18 legacy began with Matt Mauck who wore the number during the Tigers’ run to the 2003 national championship, and the jersey has been passed on ever since.

During the off-season, senior running back Terrance Magee was awarded the honor of wearing the jersey this season:

Correct me if I'm wrong but i thought the criteria for wearing #18 has to do with the player being an Impact player who returned from a serious injury.

We should award it to him if he rushes over 20 yards and just disregard the criteria that goes into wearing 18 altogether

I just had to laugh when I read the headline.

We can only hope Fournette stays four years.
