LSU's Tiger Bowl scrimmage between offensive freshmen, walk-ons and lesser-used players vs. their counterparts on defense played out on the practice fields Thursday afternoon with the offense coming up victorious.

Some of the upperclassmen and LSU starters like Danny Etling, Will Clapp, Derrius Guice, DJ Chark, Christian LaCouture and Devin White served as coaches during the scrimmage.

While there were no official stats released to the media, it sounds like LSU' defense was up 33-7 before the offense stormed back with quarterback Caleb Lewis scoring the game-winner in overtime. The offense put up 51 points according to coach DJ Chark.

After the game, coach Devin White said he was most impressed by defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko who is sitting out this season after transferring from Texas Tech and freshman cornerback Jontre Kirklin.

Upperclassmen/starters as coaches for bye-week scrimmage: have we done this in the past? I think this was a great idea. To teach is a good way to learn. Keep them focused while having some fun. Get ready to get after it next week. GEAUX!

Exactly! Get the game plan down tight next week and head to Tuscaloosa with an attitude to take someone's lunch money. GT!
