Per LSUSports.net: BATON ROUGE — LSU’s defense pitched a shutout until the waning minutes and Cade York twice set Tiger Stadium records, as the Tigers bounced back with a 34-7 victory over McNeese on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

LSU (1-1) returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 18, when Central Michigan (1-1) visits Tiger Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. CT matchup on the SEC Network. Pregame on the LSU Sports Radio Network begins at 4:30 p.m.

York, a preseason all-American, made field goals of 55 and 56 yards to twice break the Tiger Stadium record for longest field goal. The previous mark was 54 yards setup by Wade Richey against Kentucky in 1996.

This is exactly why you can't judge a performance based on the final score. LSU struggled for most of that game.

Defense didn’t dominate. They made some damn mental mistakes. Only real positive of the game was York. Offense line sucks, therefore offense is terrible

Dflynn, I haven’t seen the game yet but Dandy Don reports that Nuss had four drops including a TD. Seems like he did pretty good based on that.

He was good. Dude reminds me of Baker Mayfield back there. He can avoid pressurez he can throw on the run. He had a sweet pass to Boutte in the corner end zone on a scramble that Boutte probably should have had. If the 2 BTJ drops, the Jaray drop and that 50/50 ball to Boutte were caught, people would be screaming for him to get 1st team reps.

Not impressive, but I'll take the W. Geaux tigers. I've seen alot of people this past week asking for Nuss to play. Are y'all happy now? 3/10. Granted 2 incompletes were drops, but 1 was grossly overthrown. Let's stick with Max and let him develop out ?????. Also speaking of drops, did jaray Jenkins even catch a ball tonight or just drop everything?? We improved slightly from last week, but still a long way to go. I think SEC play is going to kill us.

I'm sorry, Max fricking sucks. If you don't see that you're blind.

This dude didn't watch Nuss play. If he had, he would know Nuss can move and get out of the pocket when needed. He would also know Nuss avoided sacks his feet and can throw on the move. 2 drops BTJ, 1 by Jaray and a sweet corner endzone throw on the run to Boutte that Boutte had a shot at. Nuss is clearly more talented. He can use feet. He can throw on the run.
