It was announced Wednesday that LSU leads all colleges with 38 former football players on NFL rosters during opening weekend. Per Nola.com:

LSU's total will increse to 40 when Kansas City wide receiver Dwayne Bowe comes off a one-game suspension and former Tiger linebacker Kelvin Sheppard is added to the Miami Dolphins' roster. He was signed this week after being released by Indianapolis two weeks ago.
