LSU senior outside linebacker Michael Divinity Jr. took to Twitter on Saturday night to announce that he is back and will be playing in the National Championship in his hometown on Jan. 13.

Divinity, a senior from Marrero, La, was held out of three games due to a "coach's decision" earlier this season and missed the Alabama and Ole Miss games while he was away from the team.

He returned to the team in November but did not play vs. Arkansas, Texas A&M, Georgia in the SEC Championship and Oklahoma in CFP semifinals.

Divinity has 23 tackles, 3 sacks, and 1 forced fumble on the season.

Should be used as a backup. But what a helluva backup we just got!

I can't see Aranda breaking up Queen and Phillips, not with the way they are playing together right now... but they will have packages for him, and I won't mind it one bit.

The better player should play PERIOD.
He has one game left to leave all w a positive image (scouts as well) and he is from the area...I expect an all out effort in whatever role he plays.

We expected an all out effort all season and that’s not what we got.

Don't like the way it's phrased. Seems "me"-centric. Don't mess up our relative cohesion.

Hopefully he’s not “Texas back”.
