NOLA.com reported Tuesday that LSU has filed court papers that formally denies that they offered former defensive coordinator John Chavis a three-year contract and a raise to keep him from leaving for Texas A&M.

The school also denied Chavis' claims that it participated in a "campaign of disinformation" about the former LSU coach after he took the job at LSU's SEC West Division rival. The school asked the court to dismiss the claims of defamation, libel and slander.
LSU is suing Chavis for his $400,000 buyout after he left to take the defensive coordinator position at Texas A&M the day after Tigers 31-28 loss to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl.

Chief is one of our best motivators. Keep it up, Chief. I firmly believe that this man is responsible for the Tiger's problems the last couple of years. He's poision.
