LSU Denying John Chavis' Contract Claim & Other Charges
by TD Staff Reporter

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
NOLA.com reported Tuesday that LSU has filed court papers that formally denies that they offered former defensive coordinator John Chavis a three-year contract and a raise to keep him from leaving for Texas A&M.
quote:LSU is suing Chavis for his $400,000 buyout after he left to take the defensive coordinator position at Texas A&M the day after Tigers 31-28 loss to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl.
The school also denied Chavis' claims that it participated in a "campaign of disinformation" about the former LSU coach after he took the job at LSU's SEC West Division rival. The school asked the court to dismiss the claims of defamation, libel and slander.
