LSU DE Signee Andre Anthony Not Yet Cleared By NCAA

The Advocate is reporting that four-star LSU defensive end signee Andre Anthony is not expected to report with fellow freshman this week to begin summer classe due to a hangup with the NCAA clearinghouse.

The NCAA is requesting Anthony produce coursework from his year and a half spent at Miller McCoy Academy in New Orleans. Miller McCoy shut down last year, and acquiring the coursework has been difficult, the source said. It’s unclear when or if the NCAA will clear Anthony, the 15th-ranked weak-side defensive end in the 2016 class.


After the team’s satellite camp Thursday in Bossier City, coach Les Miles declined comment.

Anthony, a 6-3, 220-pounder from Edna Karr High School in New Orleans was rated the No. 15 weak-side defensive end in the country and the No. 12 overall player in Louisiana for the class of 2016, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings
