LSU CB Mannie Netherly Removes Name From Transfer Portal, Practices With Team Thursday

LSU junior cornerback Mannie Netherly has decided to remain with the team after previously entering his name in the NCAA transfer portal, according to coach Ed Orgeron. Per The Advocate:

Junior cornerback Mannie Netherly entered the portal on March 12, and Orgeron said he returned to the team. Netherly practiced with LSU on Thursday.

The transfer portal became an option in October, giving Division I athletes the ability to transfer to a different school and receive a scholarship without asking their original school for permission.

Netherly originally committed to LSU in 2017 as a four-star wide receiver from Crosby, TX but quickly transitioned to the secondary during his freshman season.

He appeared in 11 games in 2018 as the third team cornerback and recorded three total tackles.

Man I am so happy to hear CB Mannie Netherly has removed his name from the transfer portal and returned to the team. I felt more sorry when Netherly entered the portal than any of the other players because as a CB he was a former WR and he's 6'3" 200+ lbs he has the perfect size Coach Corey Raymond dreams of. Now if he can get down the nuances of playing the CB position he can be one hell of an asset to the LSU Tigers. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!PURPLEREIGN????????
