Hawthorne, who has been calling LSU events for the past 35 years announced back in February that he will retire at the end of the 2015-2016 basketball season. He will replaced by Chris Blair, currently the "Voice" of Georgia Southern University Athletics.

33 years. That's a hell of a run, Mr. Hawthorne. Thank you. My favorite sports call ever is Hawthorne calling Warren Morris' homerun over the fence. You are a Tiger legend.

A shame that Hawthorne did not get the recognition and attention that he deserved Saturday night because everyone was too busy obsessing over our imbecile head coach.
