by TD Staff Reporter

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
On Wednesday, all 14 SEC coaches took part in the annual Spring Football Coaches Media Teleconference. LSU's Les Miles started off by talking about the teams progress through Spring Practice.
Here is a quick run down of what he had to say:
"We had a great Spring, we accomplished a lot, we had no serious injuries. I like the team that we will bring to the field this year."
Offense:
-Returning 4-5 starters on the offensive line.
-Terrence Magee and Kenny Hilliard are both proven running backs.
-Travin Dural had a "tremendous" spring.
-Quality fullbacks.
-Competition at the QB position. "Both Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris marked improvement during the spring but neither one are playing well enough to be the starter." "Both players are doing everything they can to prove and showing leadership."
-Hired Jeff Grimes as new OL Coach, guys are showing better technique.
Defense:
-Very talented group.
-"Danielle Hunter and Jermauria Rasco might be the best DE's that we have had in a while."
-Quality, fast linebackers.
-Corners will shut down wide receivers.
-The freshmen DB's will get a chance to play early.
Special Teams:
-Hired Bradley Dale Peveto in the offseason.
-Coached on LSU's 2007 National Championship team.
-Will bring a lot of energy.
NFL Draft:
-Expects 8 or 9 Tigers to be selected in the NFL Draft.
Tiger Stadium:
-Expanding to 100,000 seats. "You thought it was loud before, its going to be a tremendous venue to play in."
-Fortunate to continue the tradition of night games in Tiger Stadium.

"The scheduling did not go like I thought it should," he said. "I felt like the most important thing that an athletic conference can do is pick a champion in a straightforward, fair [way] and remove obstacles to any one or all teams. … The rotation of opponents can only be the fair and right way. It gives everybody an opportunity to see the entire schedule, the entire conference in four years. It removes annual inequity of scheduling.
"To say that this is the fairest and rightest way to pick a champion, I think that is flawed."
