LSU head coach Les Miles provided some injury updates on offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins and tight end DeSean Smith after practice on Wednesday.

Miles said that Hawkins practiced Wednesday and is expected to play Saturday against Ole Miss. Sophomore K.J. Malone and true freshman Toby Weathersby were mentioned by Miles as backup for Hawkins.

Smith was not able to practice Wednesday and is "doubtful" for Saturday's game, according to coach Miles.

With Smith likely not playing and starting tight end Dillon Gordon out for the season, junior Collin Jeter will likely handle most of the tight end duties against Ole Miss on Saturday.

We have tight ends? Thought they were just tackles with an 80 on their jersey...
