During his weekly radio show at TJ Ribs on Wednesday night, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron got off the topic of Football for a second to talk about Gumbo.

Orgeron said he puts filé in his gumbo "cold, hot or indifferent."

jimbeam, Filé powder, also called gumbo filé, is a spicy herb made from the dried and ground leaves of the North American sassafras tree (Sassafras albidum). Coach O probably might use Crystal too. (Don't ask).

"Coach O probably might use Crystal too. (Don't ask)." Is there something wrong with crystal in your gumbo? I enjoy a splash of it in mine. Though adding Louisiana will ruin it.
