LSU quarterback Joe Burrow went 11-of-24 for 140 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in last week's 33-17 win over Miami. Many of the incompletions were the result of dropped passes, balls batted at the line and throwaways.

He also had four carries for 14 yards.

Here are all of his plays vs. the Hurricanes:

Quite a few balls that should have been caught, but it’s game 1, and they’ll get that tuned up. I really love what I’m seeing from Joe. This guy has taken hold of this job, and the playbook in short order and owned it. You can tell he was raised by a coach.

During the competition I honestly did not care who won the job, since all were very capable QBs with their own unique skill sets. What we've been missing were the intangibles like being smart, making good decisions and leading the team. Burrow checked all of those boxes Sunday night. His audibles, recognizing coverages, and getting rid of the ball when necessary were spot on. Color me encouraged, but we'll hold off on the parade.

The one he threw to Chase was nice. Too bad it wasn’t called.
