LSU coach Brian Kelly met with the media on Monday for his weekly press conference. He discussed the South Carolina win and looked ahead to Saturday's matchup against UCLA.

Here's what he had to say:

On the South Carolina win:
"There are plenty of mistakes to fix, but we got the win. We outscored them in the 2nd half and came up with a hard-fought victory on the road."

On what they need to correct:
"It comes down to three things: The personnel. Are we in the right schemes for our players And preparation."

"When you have two first-year coordinators, they're learning their best personnel and what schemes put them in the best position to succeed. It's becoming a lot clearer, and we're finding those things out."

On the defensive personnel:
"We are still in the process of evaluating everything on defense, from coaching, players, schemes, etc. We're not ready to make a decision on what we are going to do moving forward. Nothing is set in stone, and I don't want to give anything away."

On playing a cleaner game:
"The reality is it's hard to win on the road. We made a lot of mistakes, and we still found a way to win. We're close. I know what we see and how we feel. We left 14 points out there. We could’ve scored a lot more. We took control of the 2nd half despite all our mistakes."

Injury Update:
Kelly said that they came out "pretty clean" after the win. Zy Alexander just had the wind knocked out of him; his knee was not an issue.

On Harold Perkins:
Kelly said that Perkins felt more comfortable playing strongside linebacker. "At first glance, we feel we made some progress there."

On Durham at RB:
"I don't think we're at the point where he's "the guy," but he's in the mix and certainly did the things we were looking for."

On Aaron Anderson's progression:
"It's everything he does in his everyday life. His practice habits. Framing the ball. Catching the ball. It's the natural maturity that comes from being in the program. You could see it coming in the offseason."

On the defensive tackles:
Kelly has been pleased with them so far after having preseason concerns. "They are playing fundamentally sound football." He says Da'Shawn Womack was hurt, but they will get him back.

On Garrett Nussmeier:
"He showed the ability to keep us in the game. We've have a talented quarterback. He's leading the country in touchdowns after three games, and he's only going to get better. He knows there's some growth there. There's not a more committed guy on our roster."

Having the safety’s make open field tackles is a great place to start, along with not losing outside containment.

They played like arse and won on talent and SC’s mistakes. BK has a lot to fix.
