Minnesota Viking head coach Mike Zimmer announced Friday that former LSU defensive lineman Tashawn Bower recently suffered a torn Achilles tendon during a workout outside of team activities. Per FanSided.com:

For a tear of this nature to heal, four to six months that it takes up to four to six months to heal, and then additional time is needed to rehabilitate the injury and prepare for NFL action. So, it is estimated that around eleven months are necessary.

According to Ben Goessling on Twitter, the injury happened on a workout outside of team activities. Zimmer did not reveal the date of the injury, but it is likely Bower will miss significant time. The team has already placed on him on the Active/Non-Football Injury list.
Bower, from Somerville, New Jersey, played at LSU from 2013-2016.
