Former LSU tight end DeSean Smith has signed with the Carolina Panthers, according to the team. Per Panthers.com:

CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have signed rookie tight end Desean Smith, who participated as a tryout player in Carolina’s rookie minicamp.

The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder posted 19 catches for 346 yards and one touchdown during his career at Louisiana State. To make room on the roster, the Panthers waived offensive tackle Pearce Slater.

Another reason why the Miles era is over. This was a highly recruited and valued recruit that was wasted with Miles. Every bit the talent of the highest drafted TE's in 2017 draft.
